I have a 1.0 Tsi in my fabia estate, and it feels sluggish when fully loaded with people and luggage. I can only imagine an Octavia would suffer much worse, being a larger and heavier car. I'd want 1.5 for an octavia personally.

Octavia oil overfilling. Answered by Graham Smith · 1 November 2013. The oil fill listed in the owner's manual includes the oil filter, which will be half a litre or perhaps more. I would warm the engine to operating temperature, turn it off and drain the oil again, and check the amount of oil that comes out. Remove the oil filter and drain.
